The Largest Animation Film Festival / Offline + Online / Russian and International Competitions / Jury / A Large-Scale Educational Program
The Big Cartoon Festival - the largest animation film festival in Russia – took place for the 14th time from October 29 to November 9, 2020. The Festival included premieres of international feature-length and short-length animated films, video conferences with famous directors and artists, lectures and workshops delivered by acknowledged specialists in the field.
It’s been for the first time this year when the festival announced a call for entries and it has invited a professional jury to choose the best animations among international and Russian short films. Altogether there were 1501 films from 89 countries applied, the Selections Committee chose 186 films from 35 countries to be a part of the Competition Programs. The Award Ceremony of the XIV Big Cartoon Festival took place at Moskino Cosmos Cinema Theatre on 9 November 2020.
COMPETITION OF THE RUSSIAN ANIMATION FILMS
There were 96 films taking part in the Competition of the Russian Animation Films. The Jury consisted of the following professionals: Edmunds Jansons (Head of the Jury), Yulia Aronova, Karina Kabanova, Pavel Pogudin and Evgenia Zhirkova.

There were 90 films taking part in the Competition of the Foreign Animation Films. The Jury consisted of the following professionals: Mikhail Gurevich (Head of the Jury, USA), Peter Murdmaa (Estonia), Will Anderson (UK), Natalia Surinovich (Belarus) and Spela Cadez (Slovenia).
